The Resolute Love Project exists to:

‘HOLD SPACE’* for HOUSEHOLD CARERS as they support young people experiencing mental health challenges.

*"The art of holding space is one we’re all capable of, and yet we fear it. It’s scary to enter each other’s stories without waving our imaginary ‘fix-it wand.’ But I can say, both from my personal experience and having sat with others as I have created space for them, it is powerful."

“I was stuck.”

“I was stuck in a loop of fear and dread over my child’s experience of mental ill-health.

I was stuck in a job which I thought might disappear if the challenges we were facing came to light.

I was stuck in a community who I feared would not understand when our story was told.

Getting unstuck doesn’t begin with quick fixes and big changes, it starts with making space for me to take small steps.

Trusting that over time I can build a life of resolute love.”

After over three decades of Christian work (as a volunteer, then Pastor, then leader of two youth ministry organisations) Trav — with his wife Pixi — recognise their greatest achievement has been learning from and loving their four adult children.  Relationship ups and downs, social anxiety, emotional dysregulation, deep grief, depression, and suicide ideation have all been a part of their landscape for learning.

In the midst of all the hard things, family life continues to be the most exhilarating, fun-filled, and rewarding experience that is birthing the ‘resolute love’ project.
